Between the night of 6 July and the evening of 7 July, Russian drone, guided-bomb and artillery strikes killed at least 5 people and injured at least 64 across Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts. The deadliest single strike hit Shevchenkivskyi district in Kharkiv, killing one and injuring 21, including 5 children. Figures are official but preliminary.

Overnight (from 18:00, 6 July), Russia launched 123 Shahed-type strike drones (incl. rocket-propelled variants, 'Gerbera', 'Italmas' and 'Parody' decoys); Ukrainian air defence had shot down or suppressed 108 of them as of 08:30, 7 July, with 12 strike drones hitting 10 locations (Ukrainian Air Force).
Verified by the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission (OHCHR): in May 2026 alone, at least 274 civilians were killed and 1,763 injured in Ukraine — the highest monthly toll since April 2022.
